  • Charlie is the most experienced Shaw Pod Shop technician; 15 year anniversary this qtr.
    • Seamlessly fills in for the lead Pod Shop Technician when required.
    • Helps organize the daily load plan to ensure 100% of 20FW sorties have pods.
    • He’s been a valued mentor to our newest technician; teaching him numerous processes to ensure no single points of failure at the Shaw Pod Shop.
    • He helped ensure 485 pod movements were conducted safely and effectively.
  • As Sortie Data Compiler, he meticulously ensured that all 20FW and McEntire sorties were correctly tracked in RAMPOD.
    • Maintains a 100% accurate reconciliation between RAMPOD and TD522 data.
  • Charlie was critical to the challenging and successful absorption of responsibility for 14 pods from the Savannah CRTC to support the South Carolina ANG at McEntire JNGB.
    • He helped develop an entirely new tracking process for McEntire pods involving daily communications with Savannah and McEntire to ensure complete accuracy.
      • McEntire provides data for pods & aircraft flown.
      • Savannah provides information for pod performance.
      • Charlie compiles the data for an accurate depiction of what has occurred.
      • Bad pods can take several weeks to analyze and attribute as opposed to local pods which are normally diagnosed within a day of the bad track.
    • He helped develop a measured approach to spread the inspection cycle of the McEntire pods to match the Shaw process, which included 7 trips during the 3 month transition phase. 
  • Charlie is a key part of the pod team with over 1,500 local pod sorties flown, achieving an impressive 99.6% effective rate for Shaw based pods.
    • McEntire pods achieved a 96.4% effectiveness rate for the quarter. 
  • Successfully ensured that all 55FS training sorties were flown with P5CTS pods during a Noble Eagle tasking that often involved significant end of week downloads and reloads the following week, frequently on minimum notice due to late tasking changes. 
  • Kept the Shaw RAMPOD account up to date during a slow-evolving divert to Charleston that led to an aircraft impoundment, and subsequently became a Safety Investigation. 
  • Charlie maintains great relationships with Fighter Generation Squadron personnel, helping maintain the most effective training possible for the CAF’s largest SEAD wing.
  • Charlie celebrated his 15th anniversary of solid work for BSEt.  Over the years he’s completed many academic and self improvement courses, but is now focusing on transitioning to retirement in the next few years. .
